Finanzen

How do Apple Pay payments get into the app?

Open the Shortcuts app, go to Automation, tap plus and choose Wallet. Pick your card and set it to run immediately. Then create a new blank shortcut with the action “Zahlung erfassen” from Finanzen and use amount and merchant as variables. New payments then appear unconfirmed in the app and you confirm the category with one tap.

Can I use Finanzen on several devices?

Yes, on iPhone and Mac. Sync runs through your private iCloud, and both devices need to use the same Apple Account. Reminders only arrive on the iPhone so they don't show up twice.

Can I lock the app?

Yes, with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. It is on from the start and can be changed in Settings under Security.

How do I back up my transactions?

In Settings under Export. You get all transactions as a CSV file you can open in Numbers or Excel.

How do I start over?

Settings has “Delete everything”. Setup then starts from the beginning.

Tagebuch

Why don't my entries show up on my other device?

iCloud sync is off at first. Turn it on in Settings under “iCloud” on both devices and restart the app once. Both devices need to use the same Apple Account.

How do I create a report?

At the bottom of History, tap “Create report”. Choose the period and whether to include your text in full. You get a PDF to print or pass on.

Where do the Health values come from?

Only if you turn it on, the app reads sleep duration, resting heart rate and steps from the Health app. It never writes anything back. You can revoke access in the Health app at any time.

How do I keep my entries outside the app?

Pick a folder in Settings under “Text files”. Every entry is saved there as a plain text file. Under “Backup” you can also set up an automatic backup file.

Can I lock the app?

Yes, in Settings under “Security”. Unlock with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode.

Important note about Tagebuch

Tagebuch is a journal, not a medical tool. It does not diagnose and does not replace medical or therapeutic help. If you are not doing well, please reach out to a doctor or a counselling service. In Germany, the Telefonseelsorge is free and available around the clock at 0800 111 0 111 and 0800 111 0 222.
